A Message from the President
Dear Graduand,
We are delighted to announce dates for Conferring ceremonies in January 2022. It has been an unprecedented time for all of us, and your ceremony is another welcome milestone in the return to normality for the Institute.
Your ceremonies will take place on the Carlow campus throughout the first week of January and in the Wexford National Opera House in the second week of January 2022. While we will still have some restrictions in place, we will ensure that you and your guests will enjoy a very safe and celebratory event.

- When are the conferring ceremonies?

We are holding on campus conferring ceremonies from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 8th January 2022 in Carlow and on Wednesday January 12th in Wexford. Please see above for dates and times.
- Where does the event take place?
-
Conferring ceremonies take place in the Barrow Centre, IT Carlow with light refreshments afterwards in the Central Services Building and adjoining event marquee.
Ceremonies in Wexford take place in the National Opera House, Wexford. Unfortunately, due to health & safety precautions we will not be in a position to offer refreshments after the ceremonies in the Opera House.

- Please note that mask wearing is obligatory indoors for all attendees and is required under Institute of Technology Carlow’s COVID Response Plan.
- When will I receive my Invitation?

You will receive your invitation via email to your IT Carlow student email account in the next 10 days. Do not reply to this email. You will be registered as attending your Conferring ceremony after booking your ceremony gown.
If you do not receive an invitation in the next 10 days please contact us at conferring.cw@setu.ie
- What about Guest tickets?

Each Graduand may invite a maximum of 2 guests to the ceremony. This is a health and safety decision based on current recommendations for maximum numbers in the conferring hall.
You will book your guest tickets online at the same time as booking your gown.
When you collect you gown (in the Dargan Centre or in the Opera House) you will be given your guest tickets.
Guests must present these tickets to gain entry to the conferring hall.
Please do not ask for additional tickets as we are unable to offer any additional tickets to anybody.
- Do my guests and I need to be vaccinated against COVID 19?

We are hosting this event based on current government guidance. Current restrictions require all attendees to provide proof of immunity (fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 within previous 9 months) and proof of identification at this conferring event. Government guidelines may change in the coming weeks on this and we will post any changes here on this webpage.
- When must I arrive on the day?

To facilitate the prompt commencement of the Ceremony, you must arrive 1 hour prior to the start time in order to be fully robed and be in your seat in the Barrow Centre/National Opera House 30 minutes before your ceremony takes place.
- Where do I hire my robe?

To book your gown and confirm your attendance at your Conferring Ceremony, you must register online on the ‘Student Hire’ Link. Choose ‘IT Carlow’ from the list of Institutes and follow the instructions. Online registration includes your gown booking and guest tickets. You will receive your guest tickets when you collect your gown. The booking system will go live very soon.
- Can I book a professional photographer?

The official photographers on the day are Lafayette Photography and they will be located on campus on your graduation day. It is advisable that you book and prepay for your photographs and frames online at www.lafayette.ie through the ‘Graduation Photography’ section, to save time on the day.
- Where should I park on the day?

There is parking available on campus and parking attendants will guide you to a parking location.
For those attending the IT Carlow campus, please enter via the link road, off the Kilkenny road.
View IT Carlow Visitors Carpark MapFor those attending the National Opera House most car parks in Wexford are Pay and Display or pay at Pay Station before exiting. Parking is normally charged at an hourly rate. Some on-street parking is also available for which you need a parking ticket, available from parking machines at all locations.

The date on your parchment represents the date on which Academic Council conferred the award on you.
