Pathways

Traditional

The traditional route to third level education is through the Central Applications Office after sitting the Leaving Certificate. The Leaving Certificate is a NFQ Level 5 qualification and the courses available for fulltime study are detailed here.

FET

Further Education and Training (FET) courses and courses at NFQ Level 5 and NFQ Level 6 are provided by Colleges of Further Education. Having an NFQ Level 5/6 award in a specific FET course can provide a pathway to entry to a linked course in SETU Carlow. It is important to ensure that the award is accepted before applying for the FET course. Some Colleges of Further Education have agreements in place with SETU Carlow in relation to some of the courses they offer. This means that you can get an offer in Round 0 of the CAO offers.
